YOU LEAD IN A CHANGING WORLD.
HAS THE WAY YOU WORK CHANGED TOO?
CHALLENGE THE STATUS QUO TO MAKE YOUR JOB BETTER;
FOR YOU AND FOR THE STUDENTS YOU SERVE.
The Forty Hour Principal
Shows You How.
“You’ve written in an easy style that is enjoyable to read while also being totally relevant to our work.” Mark Creba, Principal
“Makes you think about your practice and the time you spend in your job each week; I really liked
the text on impact versus hours.” Dave Robinson, Principal
The Forty Hour Principal
Creating this book has been an adventure. Neither of us hold doctorates in school leadership
or are famous international speakers, but what we are is current practitioners in the art of leading schools.
Combined, we have over 40 years of principalship experience. With this in mind, The Forty Hour Principal is not a theoretical book.
Rather, it is our attempt at making sense of the way we do our jobs from a real perspective.
In our research phase, we deliberately choose to focus on thought leaders outside of education.
We wanted their fresh, outside world views because we want to do things differently.
That is our aim – to do this critical job called principalship differently.
The model many (most?) are locked inside is outdated and simply not working;
not for principals, and arguably not for the schools they lead.
“It’s time to challenge the old rules and make critical changes – you owe it to yourself, and to the students and teachers in your care.”
Steve and David
